ABS-CBN.com managed to catch up with Carol Batay during Pinoy Big Brother Double Up’s Big Night last week and asked her what’s the update between her and fellow housemate Hermes Bautista. Carol had a crush on Hermes, but unfortunately the latter could not reciprocate the feelings, and she was heartbroken. “Hindi pa kami nakakapag-usap. Civil naman kami ngayon. For me naman wala nang dapat pag-usapan. Na-resolve ko naman na ‘yung issue ko on my own. Okay na ako.”

When asked if there’s a chance for them to become good friends now that PBB is over, Carol made a surprising confession. “Mas maganda kung civil na lang kami. The truth is sa pagkakilala ko sa kanya hindi siya ‘yung tipo ng taong gugustuhin kong maka-hang out o maging very close friend. ‘Yung totoo, lahat naman tayo may karapatan to choose our friends.”

But Carol clarified that she is not mad at Hermes, it’s just that she doesn’t feel that their personalities would fit. “Sa personality lang niya na nakita ko mukhang hindi lang kami swak ng ugali. Lahat naman tayo kapag nakikita natin ‘yung personality ng isang tao we make a choice kung siya ba ‘yung gugustuhin nating maging kaibigan o hindi. Hindi naman sa naghahanap ako ng perfect na tao para gawing friend. Di ba nga kahit imperfect ang isang tao natatanggap mo pa rin ‘yung imperfections niya at nagiging friend mo pa rin siya. I just don’t see that in Hermes. Kung ano ‘yung pinagsamahan namin sa loob ng bahay hanggang dun na lang ‘yun.”

On the other hand, Carol shared her personal wish now that she had her once-in-a-lifetime experience as a housemate. “I wish to have more wisdom in many aspects para matulungan ako in terms of decision making. I also wish na mas maging confident pa ako. I’m also looking forward na this year makagawa ako ng mga bagay na ikasasaya ko at makakadagdag sa pagiging successful ko.”
