During the stretch of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up, there were rumors that Tibo Jumalon’s goody-two-shoes image was a complete hoax since he was allegedly a professional assassin in real life. As it was, his PBB profile stated that if there was anything that he couldn’t do without other than his family, it would be his gun. But the Dad of Steel of CDO was quick to deny this allegation during an interview with ABS-CBN.com. Aside from working as a bodyguard for an international forwarding company, he revealed that he’s also an asset of a specialized anti-crime unit. “Ay hindi po ganon. Example sa korte may kaso, ako po yung magbabantay at magproprotekta sa inyo hanggang sa maihatid ko kayo sa isang safe na lugar.
When asked why he got involved in such a dangerous job, Tibo explained that his salary as a bodyguard is not enough to sustain his family’s needs. Pero ayoko lang pagdaanan ng mga anak ko na maging padyak (pedicab driver) sila,” said the hardworking ex-housemate who claimed to have worked as a carwash boy and a part-time construction worker while growing up. Prior to his PBB stint, he also previously employed as a messenger/janitor in the same international forwarding company where he now works as a bodyguard.
Tibo further shared how difficult his second job is for his wife, knowing that his life could be on the line. There were times when he would be gone for hours while she’s at home worrying about his safety. But from the time he started working as an asset, he has never been involved in any shooting incidents since their special unit is well-organized. “Wala pang barilan ever. At saka talagang pinagplaplanuhan ‘yan,” he explained.
Interestingly, Tibo revealed that he sometimes assumes a different identity for safety precautions.
But with the 100,000-peso cash prize that he received for being PBB Double Up’s fifth Big Placer, Tibo plans to develop the farm lot of his in-laws in the province.
