ABS-CBN.com interviewed Pinoy Big Brother Double Up ex-housemate Rica Paras backstage at the Big Date on the Big Night to check on how she was getting along with the other ex-housemates. The outspoken Rica admitted that although she managed to find true friends among the housemates, she is also not close to everyone. “I am close to some housemates, like sina Princess (Manzon), Tom (Rodriguez), Sam (Pinto), Carol (Batay). The rest hi-hello na lang. Wala namang away, it’s just that meron lang siguro silang ibang pinagkakaabalahan. Ganun lang talaga sa real world, it’s impossible na lahat ng 26 ex-housemates ma-keep mo in your circle of friends. May mga magiging super close ka, may mga hindi naman.”

Rica also admitted that she is still aloof with Cathy Remperas. Inside the house, Rica was close to Cathy until when she was evicted and learned that Cathy had nominated her for being too loud. Rica felt betrayed and from then on felt that she could no longer trust Cathy. “We’re civil. Hi-hello lang kami ngayon. Nung nagkasama kami sa Resbak Attack dun ko lang nasabi sa kanya na nasaktan ako sa mga sinabi niya. Since then I think nag-sink in na sa kanya how I really feel toward her. Ngayon dito sa labas okay naman kami pero hindi kami nagchichikahan o nagba-bonding. I really thought she was a friend I could keep. Kaya sobra talaga akong hurt.”

However, the 27-year-old I.T. consultant is not closing her doors on the possibility of being friends again with Cathy. “Pinanghahawakan ko pa rin naman na may pinagsamahan din naman kami kahit papaano. Maybe in the future she can be my friend again pero mahirap pa muna ngayon. Dala dala ko pa rin kasi ‘yung hurt. It might take time for me to open up again lalo na sa kanya. Hope we can have a fresh start soon.”

Rica said that she has yet to have a serious talk with Rob Stumvoll. The two of them entered the PBB house with the task of making everyone believe that they were a couple. But when Big Brother lifted the task and the truth was made known to the housemates, the Fil-Austrian guy distanced himself from Rica. “We’re fine, we would talk minsan. Pero hindi na namin pinag-uusapan ‘yung nangyaring task. Hindi na kami as close as before, that’s why it would be awkward kapag tutuksuhin kami, ipe-pair up kami sa TV. Okay naman kami as acquaintances but kung gusto niyang mas maging close pa kami as friends we really have to talk kung ano ba talaga ang problema. Sa akin naman kasi wala nang issue.”

Rica also confessed to ABS-CBN.com that she was having problems with her love life. Given her busy schedule because of PBB, Rica could not spend much time with her boyfriend of five years like they used to. “Sobrang busy ko kaya lahat ng time ko e nade-devote sa PBB. Ang nangyari e medyo na-set aside ang love life ko. Pero kami pa rin, it’s just that medyo hirap siyang mag-adjust sa mga bagong nangyayari sa buhay ko. Nasanay kasi siya for a long time kaming dalawa lang. I’m having so much fun sa mga ginagawa ko ngayon, kasama ko ang mga housemates na naging good friends ko na. Siguro after PBB na lang kapag hindi na masyadong busy I will make sure na makabawi ako sa kanya.”

Rica and some of the PBB ex-housemates are set to begin taping for a mini-series on ABS-CBN.
